Difference between Did and Have/Has

Let me tell you in which type of sentences you have to use 'Did' and 'Have/ Has.'

Did - It is used to ask questions in the Past Simple Tense.

Explanation- If you are asking something about a specific time or point in the Past then you should use 'Did.' You can use did with all subjects.

- Kya tumne Taj Mahal dekha?

- क्या तुमने ताजमहल देखा?

2. Did you speak to them?

- Kya tumne unse baat ki?

- क्या तुमने उनसे बात की?

3. Did you receive my parcel yesterday?

- Kya tumhe kal mera parcel mila?

- क्या तुम्हे कल मेरा पार्सल मिला?

4. Did you watch the movie last night?

- Kya tumne kal raat ko movie dekhi?

- क्या तुमने कल रात को मूवी देखी?

5. Did you take a bath?

- Kya tumne naha liya?

- क्या तुमने नहा लिया?

6. Did you finish all your work?

- Kya tumne apna saara kaam khatam kar liya?

- क्या तुमने अपना सारा काम खत्म कर लिया?

7. Did you turn off the alarm in the morning?

- Kya tumne subah alarm bund Kiya tha?

- क्या तुमने सुबह अलार्म बंद किया था?

8. Did you call me yesterday?

- Kya tumne kal mujhe call Kiya tha?

- क्या तुमने कल मुझे काॅल किया था?

9. Did you get married last year?

- Kya pichle saal tumhari shaadi hue thi?

- क्या पिछले साल तुम्हारी शादी हुई थी?

10. Did we go to the market on Tuesday?

- Kya hum Tuesday ko market gaye thai?

- क्या हम टयूज़डे को मार्किट गये थे?

11. Did he clean all the rooms?

- Kya usne sabhi kamray saaf kiye?

- क्या उसने सभी कमरे साफ किए?

12. Did I hurt his feelings?

- Kya mene uski bhaawnao ko chot pohochae?

- क्या मैंने उसकी भावनाओ को चोट पहुंचाई?

13. Did you invite her?

- Kya tumne usay aamantaran diya?

- क्या तुमने उसे आमंत्रण दिया?

14. Did he propose to you?

- Kya usne tumhe propose Kiya?

- क्या उसने तुम्हे प्रपोज किया?

15. Did he tell us the truth?

- Kya usne hamein sach bataya?

- क्या उसने हमें सच बताया?

16. Did you go on a holiday last year?

- Kya tum pichle saal holiday par gaye thai?

- क्या तुम पिछले साल हॉलीडे पर गए थे?

17. Did you eat the food?

- Kya aapne khaana khaaya?

- क्या आपने खाना खाया?

18. Did you call him on Monday morning?

- Kya tumne usay somwaar subah call Kiya tha?

- क्या तुमने उसे सोमवार सुबह काॅल किया था?

Have - It is used to ask questions in the Present Perfect Tense.

Explanation- If you are asking something about Past to till now but not about a specific time or point then you should use 'Have.'

He, She, It, Name of a Person - Has

- Kya unhone naya ghar khareeda hai?

- क्या उन्होंने नया घर खरीदा है?

5. Have we reached too far now?

- Kya ab hum bohot door pohonch chuke hai?

- क्या अब हम बहुत दूर पहुंच चुके है?

6. Has Rahul spoken to you?

- Kya Rahul ne tumse baat karli hai?

- क्या राहुल ने तुमसे बात कर ली है?

7. Has he met you before?

- Kya wo tumse pehle mil chuka hai?

- क्या वो तुमसे पहले मिल चुका है?

8. Has Ravi gone to College?

- Kya Ravi college ja chuka hai?

- क्या रवि कॉलेज जा चुका है?

9. Has Rahul got a job?

- Kya Rahul ko naukri mil gae hai?

- क्या राहुल को नौकरी मिल गई है?

10. Has she gone to Paris?

- Kya wo Paris ja chuki hai?

- क्या वो पेरिस जा चुकी है?

11. Have you eaten the food?

- Kya aapne khaana kha liya hai?

- क्या आपने खाना खा लिया है?

12. Have you brought lunch?

- Kya tum lunch laye ho?

- क्या तुम लंच लाये हो?

13. Have you ever visited the US?

- Kya tum aaj tak kabhi US gaye ho?

- क्या तुम आज तक कभी यू.एस. गये हो?

14. Has she said yes to marriage?

- Kya usne shaadi ke liye haan kardi hai?

- क्या उसने शादी के लिए हाँ कर दी है?

15. Has she made the presentation?

- Kya usne presentation banali?

- क्या उसने प्रेजेंटेशन बना ली?

16. Has he explained everything to you?

- Kya usne tumhe sab samjha diya hai?

- क्या उसने तुम्हे सब समझा दिया है?

17. Have they ever come here (before)?

- Kya wo yaha kabhi bhi pehle aaye hai?

- क्या वो यहां कभी भी पहले आए है?

18. Has she ever been abroad?

- Kya wo kabhi bhi videsh gae hai?

- क्या वो कभी भी विदेश गई है?

Trick - Add Past time in the sentence if it sounds correct then use 'did' in your sentence. If it does not sound correct then use 'Have' in your sentence.
